Summer's Story

Earth Camp Commitment

Hi there. My name is Summer. My Earth Camp commitment is to reuse things in different ways. The way I would do this would be by using old, useless things and making awesome new things out of them. What inspired me to do this was going to Pop-cycle and seeing all the cool things they made out of old fabric, license plates, records, old belts, and other things like that. Reusing stuff to make newer stuff would be good because it would mean less trash and waste.

During Earth Camp we got to go to a store that was very eco-friendly. At first we went to this place called 'Sea of Green' where they had lots of plants, but after that we decided to go to this place called 'Popcycle'. There they used older things and made new things. I figured that I could also do this and I would not make so much trash and waste.

To do this I will separate all the non-food waste to see if I can use them before I throw it away. Like if I had some clothing or fabric that I didn't use or want then I could "upcycle" it and turn it into something different.  This way, there will be less trash in the landfills.

The world will be different because my commitment will cause less trash in the world and my friends will think the idea is cool and start doing it too.
