2:30 - 3:30 p.m.: Warden Oasis Theater
Dr. Isabelle Collins, a native of Puebla, Mexico is a renowned expert on Talavera and her work is in collections around the world. She will be speaking about the dynamic history of Majolica and Talavera: from its origins in the 9th century through its introduction to Mexico in the 16th century, to the present production of handmade treasures using a 400-year-old technique. Her goal is to preserve the culture and beauty that is associated with colonial Mexican pottery.
