Volunteer T-shirt Design Contest!
The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is now accepting design submissions for an official Volunteer T-shirt, which will be worn by nearly 500 volunteers on an annual basis. With over 400,000 people visiting the Desert Museum each year, this t-shirt will be one of the first aspects seen by guests from around the world. If you have design talents and would like to submit artwork for a chance to win a $400 cash prize, please read below for more information.
Eligibility
In order to participant, you must be 18 years or older; minors creating designs must submit through a parent/guardian. The contest will be judged by the following museum departments: Graphics, Art Institute and the Volunteer Programs; members of these departments are not eligible to participate. The deadline for submissions is 5:00 p.m. on November 13th, 2015.
Winner & Prizes
The winning design will feature imagery related to the Sonoran Desert Region (wildlife and/or plant life). The winning design will be announced on November 20th, 2015 and the designer will be awarded a $400 cash prize; their design will be showcased on the Museum’s official volunteer t-shirt and recognition will be given via the Museum’s website and social media pages.
Rules for Entry
- Maximum of one entry per person
- Designs must be your own original artwork
- Designs should not exceed two colors (preference will be shown to line art of one color)
- Designs can be for the front, back or side of a t-shirt and should encompass an area up to 10" x 10" (inches)
- Preference will be shown to designs that incorporate an unaltered version of ASDM’s logo along with the word “volunteer”.
- A small artist signature may be placed on the submitted design
Submitting

- Submissions must include the name and contact information of the designer
- Please submit JPEG files. Files should be under 5MB with the largest dimension at 1,000 pixels. If your design is chosen you will need to supply a high-resolution (300dpi minimum) or vector image for production purposes; all entries must be digital submissions.

By submitting a design, you acknowledge that the artwork is wholly original, does not incorporate or include any material that would require the consent of any third party and does not violate any copyright, trademark, publicity right, privacy right or any other right of any third party. The Desert Museum reserves the right not to select a winner if, in its sole discretion, no suitable entries are received. The Desert Museum also reserves the right to edit, composite, scan, duplicate or alter the design for any purpose which it deems necessary or desirable, without the need for any further compensation and/or permission. By entering the contest, you grant permission for your design to be used by the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum for any purposes they deem necessary. Submissions that are not selected will not be retained past the date a winner is announced.
